This program prepares students to transfer to a bachelor’s degree in public relations, media or advertising. Students will take 20 courses in a variety of subjects such as foreign language, history, writing. communication, and the arts.

This program is designed to prepare students who intend to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor’s degree in international studies with coursework in topics like world languages, international relations, economics, and literature. This specialization will include more emphasis on other cultures and countries in recognition of the increasing interdependence of the current world. Electives should be chosen carefully to meet requirements of the transfer institution when completing the required 20 courses for this degree.

This program provides a foundation through its 20-21 courses for a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, language, literature, history, humanities, journalism, education, philosophy, mathematics, science, communication, pre-law, and religion. The Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts lays the foundation for various online pathways to a Bachelor of Arts degree in art and art history, ASL-English Interpretation, communication, Deaf studies, English/literature, history, humanities, journalism, music, philosophy, pre-law, social sciences, speech-language pathology, religious studies, and world languages. Students take 20 classes in which they foster abilities in analytical and critical thinking, written and oral communication, and understanding global cultural awareness through a combination of sign language courses, elective courses, and general education courses. Students interested in this course of study should be comfortable communicating with the instructor and classmates using live and recorded video to practice skills.
