Are you a current community college student with aspirations of transferring to a four year university? You don’t have to do it alone just because you are online.  Here’s how we can lend a helping hand – by spotlighting a few tactics to streamline enrollment into the university of your dreams.

Whether you’re seeking a bachelor degree, aiming for an exciting career change, or expanding your network and knowledge, we are here to guide you through the exciting world of transfer pathways and opportunities online.

1. Explore Your University Options. We have a wide range of transfer options available; transfer agreements are in place with more than 60 colleges. This provides transfer students a variety of geographical options to choose from – being online means you can attend a university hundreds of miles away. Do your research by going to their online landing pages to see if each college or program is a genuine fit for your current studies and future career goals. By adding any previous college credits, you can see how they apply to the program you want as well as how quickly you can have a degree in hand using “My Fastest Degree.”

2. Identify Transfer Opportunities through the Resource Center.  Keywords such as Transfer Access, Agreements, Degrees, General Studies, or Passport can help any student know where to start to choose a degree or certificate. Unlock your academic potential and discover your transfer options by accessing help guides and even fully online degree options through the Transfer Virginia portal.  Transfer guides for popular programs like business, education, engineering, cybersecurity and computer science can help you decide which online program or institution is right for you.

3. Get Advice From College Representatives. One of the most valuable resources for community college students is having the opportunity to meet one on one with college representatives. These appointments allow you to ask specific questions while getting tailored advice on the transfer process. This can give you insight on what programs and colleges are looking for in a student and allows you to make an informed decision about your next academic destination – whether online or on campus.

4. Attend Transfer Fairs. Transfer fairs are like treasure troves of information for aspiring transfer students. We have numerous virtual events lined up, which are a great opportunity for students to explore the different programs and courses offered. It’s also a chance for prospective students to meet with faculty and staff members, ask questions, and get a better understanding of what college life is like. So mark your calendars and don’t miss out on these exciting, virtual opportunities coming up:
