Malinda Carter has joined Virginia’s Community Colleges as associate vice chancellor for Human Resources. Beginning her new duties on June 15, Carter has more than 25 years of HR experience in corporate, non-profit and higher education settings.
“We’re thrilled Malinda is joining our team,” said VCCS Chancellor Glenn DuBois. “Her deep experience and personal commitment will play a vital role as we foster and sustain an equitable and inclusive work environment in Richmond and at our colleges statewide.”
Carter holds a bachelor’s degree in Labor and Industrial relations from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s in Labor and Human Resources from The Ohio State University. She also has her certification as SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and is a certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner.
Carter also will provide high level strategic oversight in several areas, such as the VCCS Shared Services Center HR process management, enterprise HR systems development and strategic policy analysis and assessment that enhance and add value to the VCCS HR programs, services and shared governance structure.
