Mitchell joined the NOVA faculty in 2008 and is associate professor of accounting at the college’s Annandale campus.

Other Higher Ed News of Note:

• It may seem counter-intuitive, but student loan default rates are higher among those with less college debt. Also, students who attended for-profit colleges are twice as likely to default as community college graduates. NPR takes a look at the very uneven playing field of Americans who struggle to repay college debt.
• Millennials are making major savings mistakes because they're so worried about student loan debt, reports Yahoo News.
• Student debt forgiveness sounds good. What might happen if the government actually did it? NPR took a look at debt forgiveness plans offered by this year’s Democratic presidential candidates.
