Student challenges – and how community colleges can better respond to them – will take center stage at the 2018 Chancellor’s Retreat next week.

The annual event brings together hundreds of community college leaders from across the state, including local and state college board members, top administrators, faculty and staff.

New this year: you can view a live stream of the Chancellor’s “State of the System” address at the conference, thanks to support from the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education.
The address will be available on Facebook and Twitter at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

On Facebook, search for “Virginia’s Community Colleges.” On Twitter, find: @vccs_so.

Disruption indeed! Need convert the VCCS colleges to evolve to behave like Amazon and no longer like Sears.

Some of finest tools that remain in the shop drawer carry the Craftsman name. Made in the good old USA. Dinosaur bones from a bygone era. Pretending that the reality that does exist just over the horizon does not will serve us poorly. The disruption we’ve seen so far is just a snowflake on the tip of the iceberg heading our way. How to prepare for that which is virtually impossible to predict… that is the question of the day.
