The Virginia Community College System (VCCS) has selected Thomas P. Miller & Associates (TPMA) as its preferred vendor for Grant Development Services.
The Indianapolis-based business services agency is available to support all 23 community colleges, System Office, and the Shared Services Center providing research, planning, and writing services related to grant funding strategies and applications on an as-needed basis.
TPMA has a record of success, securing over $277 million in grant funding from federal, state, and foundation sources for its clients. TPMA can write grants, provide workshops to assist colleges in their grant planning and identify funding opportunities through scans based on college priorities.
“The advantage of using TPMA for grant writing help is that they can provide high quality grant writing. It is a good investment to ensure grant submissions are competitive,” said Chris Johnston, VCCS’s new Director of Grant Writing and Administration.
Johnston’s role focuses largely on determining grant strategy at the system office and assisting with preparing grant proposals for submission by the system office, but he is also available to help colleges with editorial grant submission reads and strategic guidance.
“I am excited to promote a strategic approach to grant funding and planning,” said Johnston. “We’re eager to spread the word that our colleges have resources- both here at the system office through my role, and through the contract with TPMA- to identify needs and then strategically find the opportunities to meet those needs.”
