Chris A. Lumsden Reappointed to

State Board for Community Colleges for 2006-2010

Richmond – Governor Timothy Kaine has reappointed Chris A. Lumsden, of South Boston, to a second four-year term on the State Board for Community Colleges.  Mr. Lumsden, who served as chair of the State Board during 2005-06, is chief executive officer of the Halifax Regional Health System.

Originally appointed to the State Board for Community Colleges by Governor Mark Warner in July 2002, Mr. Lumsden also served as vice chair during the 2004-05 academic year and has served as chair of the facilities committee. He serves as board liaison to Southside Virginia Community College.

“I’m delighted that Governor Kaine has reappointed Chris Lumsden – Chris is one of the best board members I have ever worked with,” said VCCS Chancellor Glenn DuBois.

He graduated with honors with a double major in business administration and economics from Bridgewater College. A licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Diplomat in the American College of Healthcare Executives, he has a master’s degree with honors from George Washington University.
