William C. Hall, Jr., was appointed to the State Board in June 2014 by Governor Terry McAuliffe. He retired as vice president-corporate communications & community affairs for Dominion in 2013 after a 30 year career in communications, public affairs, and treasury departments.

A native of Danville, he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Richmond in 1975. Prior to joining Virginia Power in 1983, he served for six years as managing editor of The Danville Register. He is a Virginia Communications Hall of Fame honoree (2012) and was Utility Communicator of the Year (2009-2011). In addition to the State Board, he chairs the development committee for the Virginia Foundation for Community College education, and serves on the boards of the University of Richmond, the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Richmond, the Virginia State Rehabilitation Council, and others.

He serves as liaison to John Tyler Community College.
