Carolyn Berkowitz

Carolyn Berkowitz


Carolyn Berkowitz, of Burke, was appointed to the State Board in August 2014 by Governor Terry McAuliffe to fill an unexpired term, and was reappointed in 2015 to serve a four-year term.

Berkowitz currently serves as president & CEO of the Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals, a trade association of 200+ leading corporations and their purpose-driven professionals who invest their companies’ financial and human resources in communities for social good.

Previously, Berkowitz worked as a chief consultant with Maryland-based Mission Partners, an organization dedicated to helping non-profits and foundations move their missions forward while maximizing their impact. Earlier in her career, she served as managing vice president for community affairs at Capital One Financial Corp., and president of the Capital One Foundation.  

Berkowitz was named to Washington Business Journal’s Power 100 list in 2013, and was recognized in 2016 by Virginia Business Magazine as a “Mover and Shaker Making a Difference in Virginia.”
