New Faculty Seminar
Welcome to the 2013 New Faculty Seminar information page! The 2013 New Faculty Seminar will be held November 14-15, 2013. The seminar location will be announced soon. Details about this meeting will be posted on this page as they become available.
The seminar is open to the first 150 registrants that are faculty (adjunct and full-time alike) hired by the VCCS within the last year.
The seminar begins and ends with faculty networking with faculty from across the state. A noon luncheon begins the event and is followed by ½ day focused on good teaching and learning philosophies, strategies, and tips. Join us for a wonderful dinner, followed by a second day ½ day focused on many of the resources offered by the VCCS, features presenters from across the system. A detailed agenda will be posted here once it becomes available.

The VCCS Office of Professional Development (OPD) will cover one (1) night's lodging and tax for each participant whose campus is fifty (50) or more miles from the site of the peer group meeting. Those whose campus is two hundred (200) or more miles may stay the night prior to the meeting as well.
Hotel reservations are the responsibility of the participant and must be guaranteed with a personal credit card. Hotel cancellations should be made directly with the hotel. No-shows are the responsibility of the participant.
In order to be afforded the coverage and protection of our VCCS' contract with the hotel, you must follow our hotel booking procedures. To reserve a room or to inquire about the hotel's cancellation policy, please call the hotel reservations number noted above. Do not reserve your hotel room through the hotel's website (unless we indicate otherwise) or through an online booking site (i.e. Orbitz, Expedia, Kayak). |
