The Articulate Learning Outcomes (ALO) initiative is part of the re-engineering efforts of Virginia’s Community Colleges. ALO is a discipline faculty led process to develop articulated learning outcomes for a course in sufficient detail such that students will achieve the same basic outcomes regardless of where the course is taught or who teaches it. Included in this process is the development of mutually agreed learning outcomes, multiple assessment methodologies, and the creation of model courses in on-campus, hybrid, and online formats that VCCS faculty can adopt or adapt in their delivery of instruction.
PSY 200, BIO 101, and ACC 211 have been selected as the first courses to engage the ALO process. The Pilot Team Grant Program is currently available for the PSY 200 course. Program information for BIO 101 and ACC 211 will be posted as it becomes available. Links located to your right provide additional resources which support the ALO efforts.
