Compressed Video
refers to the process o reducing the quantity of
data used to transmit video images, while maintaining the goal of retaining as much of the original's quality as possible. Compressed video can effectively reduce the bandwidth required to transmit digital video via the internet, terrestrial broadcast, via cable, or via satellite services.


Compressed Video offers great promise for expanding the classroom experience, Instructors using compressed video need to understand and work with the advantages and constraints of the medium to ensure a quality telelearning experience.   Using compressed video as an adjunct tool is likely to enhance learning for both local and remote students.
