Nathaniel Xavier Marshall is from Lynchburg, and is a familiar face for Virginia’s Community Colleges,having served as chair of the local board at Central Virginia Community College. He had been a member of that board since 1996. As chair, he was also liaison to the CVCC Foundation Board of Directors.
Nat has worked for the past 23 years at BWX Technologies - Nuclear Products Division, where he currently serves as a senior human resource specialist and equal employment opportunity coordinator. He began with that company as a production control planner in 1984 before moving into human resources, where he also served as employee communications coordinator.
He is active in his community and is a past “Big Brother of the Year.” He has served as board president of Big Brothers & Sisters and has been a member of that board for 17 years. He is also a black belt instructor of Taekwondo, or “Korean karate.”
A native of Bedford County, he attended Lynchburg College, where he graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and English and now serves as a Trustee.
He served as vice chair of the State Board for the 2009-2010 year and as liaison to Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg and Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville.
